Who Can Use Home Base

You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account. Home Base is designed for use by a parent or guardian on behalf of their family. You are responsible for ensuring the app is used appropriately within your household.

What You Can Do

You may use Home Base for personal, non-commercial family use. You may not:

• Resell, license, or distribute access to the app.
• Use the app to store or share content that is illegal, harmful, or violates others' rights.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the app or its services.

Beta Program

Home Base is currently in beta. By creating an account during the beta period, you agree to the following:

• No copying or competing. You may not copy, reproduce, imitate, or use the features, interface design, content structure, or workflows of Home Base as the basis for a competing product or service.
• Treat beta features as confidential. Features you encounter that have not been publicly announced should be treated as confidential. Please don't share screenshots or descriptions of unreleased features publicly without our permission.
• Feedback belongs to us. Any suggestions, bug reports, or ideas you submit during the beta may be used by us to improve the product. You retain no ownership over feedback you provide.
• Beta access can be revoked. We reserve the right to remove any user from the beta program at any time, for any reason.

Your Content

You own the information you enter (family names, chores, check-in answers). You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the app's features. We do not claim any ownership over your family's data.

AI-Generated Content

Home Base uses AI to generate daily facts, newspaper stories, jokes, and guide responses. This content is for entertainment and educational purposes only. We do not guarantee its accuracy and it should not be relied upon for important decisions.

Accessibility Features — Limitations and Disclaimer

Home Base includes optional accessibility features such as text-to-speech (read-aloud) and large visual task icons designed to support pre-readers, toddlers, and children with learning differences. These features are provided as general convenience tools only and are subject to the following limitations:

• Text-to-speech is powered entirely by the device's built-in browser speech engine. We do not control its voice, accuracy, or availability on any given device or browser.
• Home Base does not claim compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Section 508, or the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
• Visual task icons are general-purpose emoji graphics and are not clinically validated PECS materials. They do not replace a formal AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) program or professional therapeutic guidance.
• Home Base is not a medical device, therapeutic platform, educational intervention, or clinical service. Use of any feature should not replace guidance from qualified educators, speech therapists, occupational therapists, or other professionals.
• We are not liable for any outcomes related to a child's development, behavior, learning, or educational progress arising from use of the app.

Third-Party Services

Home Base relies on third-party infrastructure including Google Firebase for authentication and data storage, and AI services for generated content. While we select reliable providers, we cannot guarantee their continuous availability. Service interruptions, changes to third-party APIs, or provider outages may temporarily affect app functionality. We are not liable for disruptions caused by third-party services.

The Service Is Provided As-Is

Home Base is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it running reliably, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the app.

Changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features at any time. If we decide to shut down the service, we'll give at least 30 days' notice by email.

Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the app grows. We'll update the effective date and notify you by email for material changes. Continued use means acceptance.
